Census dates

IMPORTANT UPDATE: Some information on this page has been amended due to operational changes made in light of COVID-19

The following amendments have been made to this page (last updated 7 April 2020):

  • Administrative dates: Semester 1, 2020 Census Date has been moved to 8 May. Withdrawn without failure (WD) grade will appear on a transcript when a course has been dropped after Census Date but before 10 June 2020.
  • Service processes and procedures: Withdrawn with failure (WN) grade has been removed for Semester 1, 2020.

Census dates are the basis of many university deadlines.

If you are enrolled in a course once the course census date passes, you will remain liable for the full tuition and associated fees for that course.

The following standard census dates apply at ANU:

  • First Semester Census Date is 31 March
    • Semester 1, 2020 Census Date has been moved to 8 May. For more information, please visit this page
