Swapping or dropping a course

Most variations to your enrolment can be made using ISIS. Students seeking advice on how to add a course should refer to the Enrolment page for further advice.

Swap or drop a course

You can use the swap function on ISIS to replace one course with another or the drop function to remove a course. You will remain academically and financially liable for any courses dropped after the course census date.

If you are unable to use ISIS to swap or drop a course yourself you will need to apply for an Enrolment Change, and submit the application form to your Academic College.

In most instances, international students are required to maintain a full-time study load and will be unable to drop a course. International students seeking to reduce their study load should refer to Reducing your study load as an international student for further advice.

Courses can be added or swapped via your ISIS account up to the end of the second week of each semester and trimester*. Check the Programs and Courses webpage for non-standard session enrolment deadlines (Summer, Autumn, Winter and Spring).

Additions after this deadline may be permitted. You can apply to add or swap a course after the relevant deadlines by obtaining permission from the Delegated Authority, and submitting an Enrolment Change form to your Academic College.

No courses can be added after the relevant semester, trimester or course census date. Courses cannot be dropped after the commencement of the relevant semester examination period.

*Please note that this is the deadline for 2016. Students will have until the Monday of the second week of each semester and trimester to make enrolment changes on their ISIS account in 2017. Please see the University Calendar for all 2017 key dates.
