Professor Rae Frances AM Honours Thesis Prize in Women’s and Gender History

Each year the School of History, at the College of Arts and Social Sciences may offer a prize known as the Professor Rae Frances AM Honours Thesis Prize in Australian Women's and Gender History.

Overview

The objective of the prize is to recognise outstanding Honours students in the field of Australian Women's or Gender history.

The value of the prize awarded is $1000.

The prize will be on offer annually.

Funding for this prize has been provided with generous support from colleagues, alumni, and friends on the occasion of Professor Frances's retirement in 2022. Professor Rae Frances was Dean of the College of Arts and Social Sciences from 2017-2022. She and her partner, Professor Bruce Scates, also added to this endowment in gratitude for all those who made the prize possible and to ensure its continuation through the years.
