Helen Hughes Prize for Environmental and Resource Economics

Each year the Crawford School of Public Policy, College of Law, Governance and Policy may offer a prize known as the Helen Hughes Prize for Environmental and Resource Economics.

Overview

The objective of the prize is to recognise outstanding achievement in the Master of Environmental and Resource Economics.

The value of the prize awarded is $500.

The prize will be on offer each semester.

The prize will be on offer from 2025 to 2027, unless otherwise advised.

Funding for this prize has been provided by the Crawford School of Public Policy. 

This prize is named for Emeritus Professor Helen Hughes, Professor of Economics and Executive Director, National Centre for Development Studies (1983–1993), and Director International Development Program (1984-1992), Research School of Pacific Studies, Australian National University.
