Information for Delegated Authority / Associate Dean (HDR Thesis Submission)
Notification of Intent to Submit and Nomination of Examiner process steps
When the candidate completes their Notification of Intent to Submit, their supervisor will be asked to support their intent via the eForm. Please note, this support can be made prior to organising examiners.
When support for a candidate's thesis submission has been indicated by the supervisor, or the candidate acknowledges they wish to submit without supervisory support, the Nomination of Examiners step is triggered. The following video may be used as a guide during the Notification of Intent to Submit and the Nomination of Examiner process steps. For other useful information and user guides, please refer to the related links in the right hand panel.
When the candidate submits their thesis for examination, it will be sent to the Examiner in digital format via the Thesis Distribution and Examination eForm. The University will provides information to the examiner on how to access the thesis. On completion of examination, examiner reports will be available to review via the eForm and an outcome recommendation can be made in the eform. The following video may be used as a guide for using the Thesis Distribution and Examination eForm to review examiner reports and make a recommendation/decision on the outcome of the examination. For other useful information and user guides, please refer to the related links in the right hand panel.
Requesting Additional Examination
After the Examination, the Delegated Authority may recommend the candidate undertake additional examination prior to sending the outcome recommendation to the Associate Dean. The Associate Dean must approve this additional examination outside of the eForm process. If an additional examiner is requested, the Delegated Authority must upload the additional examiner's details using the Nomination of Additional Examiner form, as well as written approval from the Associate Dean. This could be in the form of an email.
