National Indigenous Autumn School in April 2021 is cancelled
*Due to COVID-19 regulations, the committee decided to cancel the Summer School in December 2020 and Autumn School in April 2021.
The Tjabal Indigenous Higher Education Centre, the ANU Science and Engineering Colleges and the ANU Humanities, Arts and Social Sciences Colleges will host an Autumn School for Indigenous students in years 10 and 11 who have an interest in university studies.
This week-long Autumn School will run from 10 - 17 April 2021 to provide learning experiences to help inform education and career aspirations and goals. Students will participate in a program of hands-on activities from a range of discipline fields on the theme of 'Global Challenges: People, Places and Communities.'
Expert academic staff, Indigenous university students and staff will mentor participants through a fun-filled program in the nation's capital, which promises rewarding experiences on and off campus.
The Tjabal Centre and ANU Colleges cover all accommodation, transport, catering and workshop materials.
There are two streams running in the Autumn School with 15 places in each: the Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics and Medicine (STEMM) stream and the Humanities, Arts and Social Sciences (HASS) stream. You can only select one Autumn School stream to attend.
To be considered for one of the 30 spots in the Autumn School, you need to be:
- A current Year 10 or 11 student. Year 12 students will be considered
- Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander
- Interested in science, technology, engineering, mathematics or medicine
- Interested in arts, cultural studies, history, social studies, languages, business, commerce or law
Applications can be downloaded on the right-hand-side of your screen, under 'Reference Documents' and are due Friday 20 November 2020. Successful applicants will be notified by December 2020. Please note this application is for the Autumn School only. If you wish to attend the Summer School in December, application and further information will be released in April 2021.
