The rundown – information you need at a glance

  • Watch the 2026 ANU Commencement Address that took place on Monday 16 February.
  • The last day to add courses via ANUHub is Tuesday 24 February.
  • Get ITS support during O-Week in person, online or over the phone.
  • It’s O-Week! See what’s happening across campus on the O-Week website.
  • ANUSA is going Supernova with over 60 O-Week events across campus.
  • Trial the ANU-Civic Loop Bus running on weekdays from 7.30am–7.30pm (excluding public holidays).
  • Shop ANU, the official home for ANU merchandise, is now open on Joplin Lane and operates Monday to Friday, 10am–3pm.

Wi-Fi tips to stay connected

Using your personal hotspot in a lecture theatre can affect everyone’s Wi-Fi performance. Avoid doing so and connect to ANU-Secure, the University’s preferred Wi-Fi network, to ensure improved Wi-Fi for everyone.

Help Points live this week 

29 new Help Points are now active across campus, providing immediate, direct access to ANU Security if you are in an emergency or feel unsafe. They are designed to enable a rapid response, act as a visible deterrent, and provide peace of mind when moving around campus.

The Special Industry Project (SIP) – Enrol now

The SIP is a work-integrated learning course at the College of Business and Economics, designed to mirror a real-world consulting environment.

Applications are open to all ANU students, alumni up to 5 years after graduating, and musicians in the community aged 16 to 26. Audition now to be part of ANU Orchestra or ANU Jazz Orchestra.

Join ANU Rocketry

Intake is now open for ANU Rocketry, a student society that builds competition rockets, while developing members’ technical and business skills. All students, regardless of degree or experience, are welcome.

Lunar New Year – the Fire Horse rides in

When the Year of the Fire Horse dawns on 17 February 2026, millions of people across Asia and the Pacific will gather to celebrate new beginnings.

Last appearing in 1966 – rare fusion of the Horse with Fire signals passion, courage and a drive for change in Chinese astrology.

ANU students receive New Colombo Plan (NCP) scholarships for 2026

23 ANU students will live, study and intern in the Indo-Pacific after receiving NCP scholarships for 2026. 

It’s the largest cohort of students the University has ever had in a single scholarship round since the program’s inception in 2014.

ANU joins the global Healthy Campus program

ANU has officially signed on as a Healthy Campus signatory, committing to building a healthier, more supportive University environment for students and staff. The recognition highlights the work already underway across the University to promote physical activity, mental wellbeing and inclusive participation.

Blue Tree Project 

Standing alongside Sullivans Creek, in front of the China in the World Building, a painted Blue Tree stands as a symbol of hope. It’s a powerful reminder to look after our mental wellbeing and to check in on those who may be struggling.

Next time you’re walking across campus, take a moment to go and visit the University’s restored Blue Tree.
