Alumni Email for Life is available to all graduates of The Australian National University and provides a lifelong email address in the form of email@example.com.
With an ANU alumni email account you can check your email from wherever you are in Australia or around the world by logging in to Outlook web access.
Graduates from December 2014 onwards will have automatic access to their alumni email account and access to this account will remain the same as accessing your student email account.
If you graduated prior to December 2014, email ANU IT Services at firstname.lastname@example.org to request your alumni account be activated. Please include your name, date of birth, year of graduation and student ID number (if known). If you graduated on or after December 2014, you already have an alumni account and just need to reset your password with ANU IT Services. Please email ANU IT, email@example.com or call +61 2 6125 4321 and follow the prompts.
If you currently have an operating ANU student email account, the contents of that account will automatically migrate to your new alumni email account (firstname.lastname@example.org). However, the mailbox no longer identifies with your email@example.com emails address. Anyone who emails to your firstname.lastname@example.org will receive an automated bounce back with an error message.
If you would prefer not to use the default email account that your mailbox has, and continues to have assigned to it, you can apply to ANU IT services to have a email@example.com email address instead. This can be done by emailing the ANU IT service desk at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Note that any subscriptions or accounts using your old email address will need to be changed, as well as informing those in your address book.
If you are a current staff member you will retain the firstname.lastname alias.
If you graduated prior to December 2014 and do not currently have an alumni email account, please contact the IT Service Desk to have your account activated.
