I am a Professor of Wireless Communications and Signal Processing at the School of Engineering, dedicated to bridging the gap between theoretical excellence and industry application. My interdisciplinary research and extensive industry collaborations drive my commitment to translating ANU research into tangible impacts within national priority areas. Having served as Associate Dean (Higher Degree Research) and the Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, and Accessibility (IDEA) Working Group Lead, I possess deep institutional expertise in addressing the academic challenges of our HDR community while championing IDEA initiatives across STEM fields.
As an Academic Board member, I will advocate for a strategic and results-oriented approach to university governance that aligns with the University’s societal goals, ensuring the Academic Board to be a robust forum for high-quality education and impactful research. I will champion frameworks to streamline research translation and commercialisation, enhancing Australia’s global profile in critical technologies. Moreover, I will leverage my leadership experiences to promote policies that foster a supportive, high-performing environment for HDR productivity and well-being. Furthermore, I will embed IDEA principles into the core of our academic, recruitment, and education procedures to ensure a world-class environment for all.
