Mr Colin Simpson

I have worked in Tertiary Education as a Learning Technologist since 2003, supporting lecturers and tutors in their use of technology to enhance their teaching practices. I work in the College of Business and Economics and help to guide the College in terms of teaching and learning innovation. I am an active member of the Wattle User Group and the ANU Online Reference Group as well as national and international communities of practice in learning technology.

If elected to the Academic Board, I will bring unique knowledge and skills that I have developed in my career. My work in supporting a range of academics across CBE as well as my collaboration with education design and technology peers across the ANU has given me broad insights into many of the teaching and learning opportunities and challenges that we are presented with at the ANU.I am also currently undertaking a PhD, researching the factors that influence Technology Enhanced Learning and Teaching practices in Higher Education. I believe that my research will help to inform some of the discussions of the Academic board (and vice versa).

I tweet as @gamerlearner and blog at www.screenface.net
