ANU has been my academic home for more than twenty years. During that time, I have dedicated myself to strengthening our University through research, teaching, leadership, and service — building international collaborations, securing competitive funding, educating students, and supervising the next generation of researchers.
The challenges of recent years have reminded us that academic excellence alone is not enough. A great university also depends on trust, transparency, accountability, and the confidence that every member of our community has a voice. Those values must guide not only our teaching and research, but also the way our University is governed. I have contributed to that renewal through the Nixon Working Groups and the ANU Governance Project. As a mathematician, I believe the best decisions come from rigorous evidence, careful analysis, and intellectual honesty—not assumptions or closed processes.
This is my fourth time standing for ANU Council because representation is far more than winning an election — it is earning and keeping your trust every day. If elected, I will consistently listen to your voices, communicate openly, ask difficult questions, and hold leadership to the highest standards of integrity, transparency, and accountability.
I will never stop listening, because together we can strengthen our governance, rebuild confidence, and ensure ANU continues to pursue excellence in everything it does.
