CoE extension

If you find that you are unable to complete your program requirements within the duration of your Confirmation of Enrolment (CoE), you will need to request an extension to your CoE. You can request an extension of your CoE by completing the Request for change to Confirmation of Enrolment (CoE) form and submitting it to your academic college.

You are also able to request an extension to your CoE during the application process for Late WithdrawalProgram Leave or a Reduced Study Load using the Manage My Degree eForm, via ISIS.

If you are an existing student and you are transitioning from a non-Student Visa to a Student Visa, you also apply for a CoE using the Request for change to Confirmation of Enrolment (CoE) form and submitting it to your academic college.

If your application is successful, your extension CoE will be emailed to your student email account.

Visa information

It is important that you lodge an application for a visa extension with the Department of Home Affairs well in advance of the expiry of your current visa. You will also need to ensure that you have purchased Visa-length Overseas Student Health Care (OSHC) and that you meet any other requirements for lodging a Student Visa application.

For further advice on the visa application process visit the Home Affairs website.

If you need to extend your Visa as you were unable to complete your studies within your original Visa duration due to the University being unable to deliver your program as intended as the result of COVID-19, including travel bans, you may be eligible for a Student Visa fee waiver. Please refer to the information on the Student Visa Waiver webpage.
