Blackburn Medal for Research in Law

Each year the ANU College of Law, Governance and Policy may offer award known as the Blackburn Medal for Research in Law (‘The Award’).

Overview

The objective of the prize is to recognise the student(s) who has/have demonstrated a high level of academic excellence through being awarded the highest result in LAWS4300 Undergraduate Law Dissertation at the ANU College of Law, Governance and Policy.

The value of the prize awarded $500, and a medal. If two or more students achieve the same top mark, the prize money awarded in that year shall be divided equally between them, and each student will receive a medal.

The prize will be on offer annually unless otherwise advised.

Funding for this prize has been provided by the family of Sir Richard Blackburn who was a former Chancellor of ANU. Sir Richard Blackburn was a Supreme and Federal Court Judge and a prominent legal academic.
