Washington internship program

The Washington Internship Program is a course offered by the School of Politics & International Relations at ANU, incorporating a seven-week internship in the United States Congress.

The course offers students with a good background in American government and politics an opportunity to experience political life in Washington DC by working in the offices of Members of Congress or on the staff of Congressional committees and then to complete a program of research on a specialised aspect of American government, politics, and public policy.

The Washington Internship also works very closely with the Australian Embassy in Washington DC and officials at the Embassy have played a major role in facilitating this program. The American-Australian Association in New York acts as sponsors of the selected interns for the US Government's visa requirements.

The course details are available on the Programs & Courses website.
