Message sent to ANU community on Saturday 21 August from the Vice-Chancellor
Positive COVID-19 case in our community
Dear all
I am writing to advise that a student in one of our residential halls has tested positive for COVID-19. We are in contact with all those directly affected and are working closely with ACT Health to follow the relevant protocols. I ask that you respect the privacy of those affected. We don't need idle speculation and misinformation spreading unnecessarily.
This is only the second case of COVID-19 on our campus since the pandemic began in early 2020. I thank all those who have, and still are, working tirelessly to protect our community from the spread of this virus.
I do not intend to announce every case we have in our community going forward. We will contact all those who are directly affected. For everyone else, we will update the ANU COVID-19 advice website at this page: https://www.anu.edu.au/covid-19-advice/confirmed-covid19-cases-in-our-community
My thoughts are with the student and I wish them a quick recovery.
Stay safe
Brian
