Friends of the Australian Archaeological Institute at Athens

The ANU is one of ten universities who are members of the Australian Archaeological Institute at Athens (AAIA). The Insititute aims to promote the study of ancient, medieval and modern Greece in both Greece and Australia, and is the focal point for Australian research and excavations in Creece. The Institute has an office and hostel in Athens and scholars may take advantage of these facilities.

The AAIA Friends groups around the country support the Institute and offer scholarships for students to spend a period of time in Greece or pursuing their research projects or taking part in the Institute's excavations.

The winner of the ANU FAAIA Scholarship will receive a return flight (Canberra-Athens-Canberra). The Scholarship is generously supported by the Hellenic Club of Canberra who supplement this award with up to $4000 to cover living expenses while the scholarship holder is in Greece.
