Thank you to our generous community who have helped to support 42 staff with $65,000 in funds disbursed.
A number of you are giving ongoing donations through the workplace giving programs, that will continue to support our colleagues facing hardship.
You can still contribute.
Care for your colleagues
We are all struggling as a result of the COVID-19 health crisis, and some of our colleagues are having a particularly tough time. As an ANU community, we rally together during challenging times. Now is the time for us to help one another.
The University has been actively looking after the needs of both our students and our academic and professional staff. But some, though supported by our existing programs, are still facing hardship.
Some of our colleagues are disproportionally disadvantaged by the campus closure and remote working arrangements. For those of us who aren’t, and who can assist them, it’s mutually beneficial to have this opportunity.
Professor Peter Kanowski, Master of University House & Graduate House, University House
Some of our colleagues have spouses or family members who are out of work, leading to significant financial stress. Some have family responsibilities and circumstances that are impacted by the current situation. And, like many of our students, some are far from their home countries and family support. We have therefore created the ANU Staff Urgent Relief Fund. By supporting this effort you can provide access to urgent funding for a variety of living expenses like housing, food, and health and medical needs.
We are all in this together, and we hope with your donation we can support at least 100 colleagues in need with ex-gratia payments of up to $2,500.

Our students have also been impacted by COVID-19. Find out more about how you can provide certainty to students during uncertain times, through the ANU Student Urgent Relief Fund.
We understand some of you are not in a position to give and indeed might need support yourselves. If you are experiencing difficult circumstances, please access our support services.
The ANU community supports each other in good times and bad. Though we are not together on campus right now, this is a great way to support our colleagues who are experiencing hardship at this time.
