Care for your colleagues
We are all struggling as a result of the COVID-19 health crisis, and some of our colleagues are having a particularly tough time. As an ANU community, we rally together during challenging times. Now is the time for us to help one another.
The University has been actively looking after the needs of both our students and our academic and professional staff. But some, though supported by our existing programs, are still facing hardship.
Some of our colleagues are disproportionally disadvantaged by the campus closure and remote working arrangements. For those of us who aren’t, and who can assist them, it’s mutually beneficial to have this opportunity.

Some of our colleagues have spouses or family members who are out of work, leading to significant financial stress. Some have family responsibilities and circumstances that are impacted by the current situation. And, like many of our students, some are far from their home countries and family support. We have therefore created the ANU Staff Urgent Relief Fund. By supporting this effort you can provide access to urgent funding for a variety of living expenses like housing, food, and health and medical needs.
We are all in this together, and we hope with your donation we can support at least 100 colleagues in need with ex-gratia payments of up to $2,500.

The ANU community supports each other in good times and bad. Though we are not together on campus right now, this is a great way to support our colleagues who are experiencing hardship at this time.

ANU Staff Giving - ways to give
ANU staff members can choose to make donations through fortnightly pre-tax payroll deductions. Receive immediate tax relief without the need to keep receipts for your tax returns. Your Group Certificate will summarise the donations you have made during the year for your annual tax.
In order to set up a fortnightly payroll donation, please complete the Workplace Giving Online Form. Alternatively, you can download the Workplace Giving Form (MS Word version or PDF version), complete and return to email@example.com.
Your donations will be deducted from your fortnightly salary within one month of completing and returning the form.
Cash out leave
You may be eligible to cash out annual or long service leave to support your workplace giving, in accordance with the ANU Annual Leave and Long Service Leave Procedures. Contact CommunityWellbeing@anu.edu.au to determine your eligibility.
Credit card donation
If would you prefer to make a single donation, you can do so using a credit card via our online donation form.
