ANU has an established procedure for staff and students (both past and present) for accessing information contained in their personal staff or student files.
ANU does not charge for accessing your staff or student files (PDF 37KB).
Requests for access to staff or student files by current or former staff members or students must be lodged with the Director, Human Resources Division (for requests from staff members) or the Registrar, Student Administration (for requests from students).
You may view your files or request a copy. Before access to your files is provided you will need to show photographic identification or provide an Australian postal address to which copies of your files can be sent via registered post.
You will be informed if any documents have been removed from your files or had information masked, along with a detailed explanation of the reasons for doing so. Information will also be provided regarding your further options such as lodging a formal FOI request, or requesting amendment to your personal information.
