The IPCC Synthesis Report: Key findings from this 7-year cycle

This month, the United Nations Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) is scheduled to release its Synthesis Report, the final product from its last seven years of reporting. The report integrates all IPCC reports from the current cycle to provide a comprehensive understanding of climate change drivers, impacts, and adaptation and mitigation responses.

Join us at this event for an opportunity to hear directly from Australians involved in preparing and approving this report about its key findings, and the urgent action required to address the challenges and opportunities of climate change.

Background

The IPCC is the global science body providing policymakers with regular assessments of the scientific basis of climate change, its impacts and future risks, and options for adaptation and mitigation. The IPCC operates on an approximately 7 year cycle and within each cycle, prepares several reports. The IPCC is currently near the end of its 6th cycle and the key reports are:

2. Impacts, Adaptation and Vulnerability - released 28 February 2022

3. Mitigation of Climate Change - released 4 April 2022

4. Synthesis Report - scheduled to be released in March 2023
