NAIDOC Week 2023

ANU is a proud ongoing supporter of NAIDOC Week which recognises and celebrates the history, culture and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.

The NAIDOC theme for 2023 is For Our Elders.

This theme recognises that across every generation, our Elders have played, and continue to play, an important role and hold a prominent place in our communities and families. They are cultural knowledge holders, trailblazers, nurturers, advocates, teachers, survivors, leaders, hard workers and our loved ones.

The ANU community are encouraged to celebrate NAIDOC Week through participation in official ANU and local activities and events from 2-9 July 2023.

The University recognises that leave to attend NAIDOC Week activities is of mutual benefit to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander staff members and the University. Further information can be found at Personal Leave for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Staff members

Further Information regarding NAIDOC Week 2023 be found on the NAIDOC Week website. The NAIDOC site also lists local events happening in the ACT.
