The ANU LGBTIQ+ Alumni Network's mission is to foster community among, and build stronger connections between ANU LGBTIQ+ alumni and students, staff, faculty, parents, and straight allies. We will achieve this mission in a variety of ways, including social and networking events on campus and around the world, participating in community service and student mentoring programs and serving as the voice of LGBTIQ+ alumni to the University.
The Network was launched by Chief Minister Andrew Barr on 31 August 2018 - Wear it Purple Day. Chief Minster Barr is also the Network's inaugural patron, in recognition of his ongoing work in advancing LGBTIQ+ rights and inclusion in the ACT and Australia more broadly.
