Submitting a nomination

Nominations can only be submitted through the online nomination portal.

Nominations open on Thursday 1 April 2021 and close on Sunday 9 May (12pm midnight, AEST).

You will receive a confirmation message upon the successful submission of your nomination.

Making a nomination for the 2021 ANU Alumni Awards is a two-step process.

Step 1: Nominate an outstanding alumnus/alumna via our online form. In 500 words or less, provide a persuasive statement on why the nominee should be recognised for their respective award category. Shortlisting will be based purely on this statement, so please do not assume pre-existing knowledge about the nominee.

Step 2: Nominators will be advised if their nominee(s) have been shortlisted. All shortlisted nominees will be contacted directly for further information to support the judging criteria. This will be a collaborative process with the ANU Alumni team. The 2021 ANU Alumni Awards Selection Committee will then determine award recipients for each category.

All nominees (if aware of their nomination) will be informed of the outcome of their nomination in July 2021.

Judging criteria

All eligible applications will be assessed on the extent to which they meet the following three criteria:

Impact: evidence and scale of the tangible impact and contribution the nominee has had in their profession, community or field of expertise.

Service: evidence the nominee is committed to bettering the lives of others in their community or society in general through their professional or volunteer efforts.

ANU: the influence of ANU on the nominee's career and achievements, and examples of how the nominee has stayed involved with the University community.
