Mr Geoff Knuckey

Geoff Knuckey had a 32-year career with major accounting firm Ernst & Young and retired as a Partner in December 2009 to pursue a new career comprising board non-executive director and Audit Committee positions in the private and public sectors.

He was admitted as a Partner of Ernst & Young in 1995 and was Canberra Office Managing Partner from 2003-2006. He was Partner in charge of the Audit and Assurance group from 2003-2008 and maintained a Senior Partner role until his retirement in 2009. During his career Geoff worked in both the Canberra and Melbourne offices of Ernst & Young. Geoff's career included specialising in financial statements auditing of entities of all sizes ranging from ASX-listed companies through to medium-sized and small businesses across all types of industries, including the financial services sector. His role also included advising in internal audit, corporate governance, risk management and financial statements auditing and reporting. For his entire career Geoff operated in both the private and public sectors.

He is currently Chairman or non-executive director of five private-sector companies and is also Chair or Independent Member of the Audit and Risk Committees for a number of government departments. His particular skills are in financial reporting and analysis, risk management, corporate governance and internal audit. Geoff is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia and has been a Registered Company Auditor since 1995. He is Graduate Member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and a member of the Institute of Internal Auditors. He holds a Bachelor of Economics from ANU.
