Dr Md Rezanur Rahaman

Research Fellow, the National Centre for Epidemiology and Population Health

My name is Rezanur Rahaman. I am a medical epidemiologist with specialist training in Field Epidemiology, International Public Health and Health Management, Infectious Disease and Environmental Epidemiology, and a One Health approach having completed an MBBS, MSc (Appl. Epi), FETP, MIPH/MHM, and a PhD.

As Senior Lecturer at NCEPH, I supervise MPhil in Applied Epidemiology―MAE scholars; convene coursework subjects; map and design MAE curriculum; prepare and deliver tutorials, lectures, workshops, and seminars (nationally and internationally); undertake collaborative research and supervise PhD scholars. I work closely with federal and state government agencies.

Policy Statement:
If elected (your vote counts!), I’d like to contribute to ANU’s academic governance in line with my teaching philosophies of promoting diversity―students are diverse: fast vs. slow learners, conversing vs. shy, proactive vs. needing guidance, domestic vs. international, privileged vs. disadvantaged, and so on. Rich cultural, ethnic, and linguistic diversity promotes students’ social growth and helps prepare future leaders for today’s complex world.

I’d favour a positive, inclusive environment, underpinned by equal opportunities for all students/staff regardless of background including disability, LGBTQIA+, Indigeneity and ethnicity. I’d promote the use of inclusive language and respecting Indigenous Elders and their traditional lands while ‘teaching and learning’ at ANU.
