George Dicker Prize in Undergraduate History

Each year the School of History at the College of Arts and Social Sciences may offer a prize known as the George Dicker Prize in Undergraduate History.

Overview

The objective of the prize is to recognise outstanding undergraduate students in the field of Australian, British or Commonwealth history in the period 1800-1945.

The value of the prize awarded is $500.

The prize will be on offer from 2023 to 2025.

Funding for this prize has been provided by Matthew Dicker in memory of his late father, Mr George Dicker who served as a registrar at ANU from 1965 - 1984 and was University Registrar from 1979 - 1984. Matthew and George shared a love of history and George was particularly interested in all aspects of Australian, British or Commonwealth history in the period 1800 to 1945.
