The ANU Accommodation Bursary is designed to assist full time ANU students, established in permanent accommodation, who are experiencing unexpected financial hardship. Priority may be given to students nearing the end of their studies and needing assistance to complete. All applications are considered by a committee. Lodging an application does not guarantee a bursary will be awarded. Bursaries provide temporary assistance and should not be regarded as on-going aid.
Applications are assessed and awarded at the discretion of a committee and may include a personal interview. The committee will determine the amount of any bursary granted.
Bursaries are awarded within specified timeframes during the academic year and are subject to availability of funds.
Bursaries are granted for up to 20 weeks per semester. A student is eligible to receive a maximum of 40 weeks in total over the course of undergraduate study.
Bursaries granted to students living in an ANU Hall or affiliated residence will be paid directly to the residence to offset the student's rent account.
Receiving a bursary may reduce the amount of rent assistance you are eligible to receive; you should seek independent advice on this matter.
