The objective of the Award is to support ANU College of Law students to undertake an internship in London, England.

The Award would normally be used to assist with airfares, accommodation and day-to-day living expenses to undertake the internship.

Eligibility

 

The Award is available each year to a current ANU student who:

  • is a domestic or international student; and
  • is enrolled full time in the Bachelor of Laws (Hons) at the ANU College of Law, whether undertaking as a single or flexible double degree; or
  • is enrolled full time in the Juris doctor (JD) degree at the ANU College of Law; and
  • has a strong academic record and is able to demonstrate their capacity for the self-reliance which the internship demands; and
  • has applied, been offered a place in, and intends to undertake a Legal internship at the International Bar Association (IBA) in London.

The value of the Award is $20,000.  The Award is paid in a one-off instalment upon accepting the Award unless otherwise stated in the letter of offer.

  • The internship itself is unpaid.
  • The internship start and end dates to be negotiated with the internship host. Normally, the internship should run from January to March/April 2023 (12 weeks).
