The objectives of the ANU National Security Policy Scholarship are to foster talent, in national security policy, both domestically and internationally, to showcase the College's programs for high achievers, and to attract the highest quality applicants who may otherwise be excluded due to financial constraints.

National Security Policy


This award is available each year to a prospective student who has received an offer of admission to the Master of National Security Policy, and is either a domestic or international student. In addition, the scholarship is awarded in three divisions: an international recipient, a domestic recipient, and a domestic recipient who is an employee of the Australian Public Service, or State and Territory equivalents.


International recipients of this scholarship will receive a 100% tuition fee scholarship and Domestic recipients will receive a 50% tuition fee scholarship, upon enrolment into the program.

Recipients are responsible for making payment of any fees not covered by the scholarship, by the prescribed date, as set out by the University each session. Recipients of this award are responsible for the costs of books, study materials, accommodation and all other costs of study.

This financial support is not currently available to new applicants.

As well as applying for admission to the Master of National Security Policy, applicants must provide:

  • A statement of aims of no more than 500 words to support their application
  • A current Curriculum Vitae of no more than 3 pages
  • Two (2) academic written references.

All supporting documentation must be forwarded via email to  prior to the closing date.
