Taiwan Australian National University Scholarship

Overview

In 2017 ANU re-signed an agreement with the Department of International and Cross-Strait Education of the Ministry of Education Taiwan (hereunder referred to as "DICE") to continue the Taiwan Australian National University Scholarship until 2022.

The scholarship program commenced in 2013 and provides tuition fees and stipends for up to 5 Taiwanese students per year to undertake PhD studies at ANU over the course of the five year agreement. The scholarships will be jointly funded by ANU and DICE.

Field of study

All areas except for professional doctorates.

Eligibility

Eligibility: Scholarship is awarded on the condition that the scholar is a citizen of Taiwan who is admitted to and continues to pursue a full-time program for the degree of Doctor of Philosophy at The Australian National University. Applicants should normally be resident in Taiwan, Penghu, Kinmen, and Ma Tsu, although those currently residing outside Taiwan are not excluded.

Selection basis: Students selected for the Scholarships must be exemplary students who have demonstrated merit through consistently achieving high academic results.

How to apply

It is anticipated that up to 5 Taiwan-ANU PhD Scholarships will be offered in the 2022 application round.

Application to ANU - deadline for 2022 Taiwan-ANU PhD Scholarships: 22 November 2021 study must be commenced between 1 May 2022 to 30 September 2022.

Students must apply to ANU for the PhD program before 22 November 2021. When completing Section 2 (Scholarships) of the ANU PhD application form, please specify under 'Other' that you will be applying for the 'Taiwan Australian National University Scholarship'.

Application to Taiwan DICE: 08:30am CST 22 November 2021- 12:00pm CST 16 December 2021.

Students should submit a separate scholarship application to Taiwan Ministry of Education between 22 November 2021 and 16 December 2021.
