SR Wilson Travel Award

Overview

Each year the Mathematical Sciences Institute may offer up to 10 SR Wilson Travel Awards with the aim of allowing latter year undergraduate to attend an Australasian conference in statistical science and its applications. The donor hopes this will encourage mathematics students to pursue research interests in statistical science, and also encourage statistical science students to pursue research interests in mathematics.

Eligibility

The award is available each year to a current ANU student who:

  • is a domestic or international student;
  • is enrolled in a bachelor degree or bachelor honours degree in mathematical sciences or a related area;
  • has demonstrated significant experience in both mathematics and statistical science, as evidenced by completed coursework and academic references;
  • has completed a minimum of 60% of a bachelor honours degree or equivalent coursework at the time of attendance at the conference.

Selection

Selection is made on the basis of academic merit.

Benefits

The recipient of this award will receive funding to assist with registration fees, transport and accommodation to attend an Australasian conference in statistical science and its applications.
