School of Music Entry Scholarship

Overview

The ANU School of Music, College of Arts & Social Sciences may offer an award known as the School of Music Entry Scholarship ("the award").

The objective of the awards is to encourage new enrolments of students who demonstrate high level skills in the understanding, interpretation and execution of solo and ensemble performance.  Students may elect to specialise in a classical, jazz or contemporary style.

Funding for this award has been provided by the Australian Capital Territory Government's arts agency, artsACT, under the Advanced Music Performance Program established in 2018.

Eligibility

The award is available each year to a prospective ANU student who:

(a)            is a domestic or international student. 

(b)            is enrolling in the first year of an undergraduate coursework program in the ANU School of Music;

(c)            is majoring/specialising in music performance;

(d)            has received a final selection mark in audition of 70 or above.

Selection

Selection is made on the basis of applicants meeting the eligibility criteria under section 3.

Benefits

The value of the award is stated in the letter of offer.  The award is paid in a single, one off instalment after census date in a student's first semester of study, unless otherwise stated in the letter of offer.

The recipient is responsible for making payment of all tuition fees by the prescribed date as set out by the University each session.  Recipients of this award are responsible for the costs of books, study materials, accommodation and all other costs of study.

How to apply

All applicants applying for admission through the ANU Admission Scholarship and Accommodation Application System will be automatically considered for the award based on them meeting the eligibility criteria and electing to be considered for scholarships.

For International students and domestic students not applying via ASA, there is no separate scholarship application as students are automatically considered based on their meeting the eligibility criteria.
