Rotary-Alf Gillespie Scholarship for Indigenous Australian Undergraduate Students

Overview

The Rotary-Alf Gillespie Scholarship for Indigenous Australian Undergraduate Students is to encourage Indigenous Australian students to continue with tertiary education and also to study their own culture and history.

Field of study

Indigenous Australian culture such as archaeology, anthropology, history and linguistics.

Eligibility

The award is available each year to a current ANU student who:

(a) is an Australian citizen; and

(b) is of Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander descent; and

(c) identifies as an Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander person; and

(d) is accepted by the community in which they live, or formerly lived; and

(e) is enrolled in the third year of a Bachelor degree program and taking courses with a focus on the study of Indigenous Australian culture such as Archaeology, Anthropology, History and/or Linguistics.tory.

  • reports from two academic referees
  • money available in the fund in any year
  • availability of appropriate supervision.
