Robert O'Neill Scholarship

Overview

Each year the Strategic and Defence Studies Centre (SDSC) may offer an award known as the Robert O'Neill Scholarship ("the award").

The objective of the award is to provide the means for a high achieving student to undertake an internship with the International Institute of Strategic Studies (IISS) - Asia office in Singapore.

Funding for this award has been provided by SDSC to honour the legacy of Robert O'Neill, a former head of SDSC, IISS, and the former Chichele Professor of the History of War at the University of Oxford.

Eligibility

The award is available each year to an ANU student who is:

(a)            a domestic or international student; 

(b)            enrolled in the Master of Strategic Studies;        

(c)            Has completed 96 units of the Masters of Strategic Studies but has not had the degree conferred.

Benefits

The award provides a stipend to be paid in one instalment at the beginning of semester, plus a Canberra-Singapore [or equivalent] return economy-class flights.
