Robert Foster Grant

Overview

Each year the School of Art & Design, ANU College of Arts and Social Sciences may offer an award known as the Robert Foster Grant.

The objective of the Award is to provide financial support to an eligible student undertaking research in a visual arts or design discipline at the School of Art & Design, that illustrate innovative use of materials and processes.

For 2021 and 2022 only, there will be an additional $5000 grant on offer.

Funding for this Award has been provided by the Tall Foundation.

Eligibility

The Award is available each year to an ANU student who:

  • is a domestic or international student;
  • is enrolled in an Honours program (undergraduate) or Masters (Advanced) program (postgraduate coursework) in the School of Art & Design, ANU College of Arts and Social Sciences;
  • is undertaking a studio-led research project that explores innovative use of materials and processes in a visual arts or design discipline at the School of Art & Design as evidenced by enrolment in the relevant THES 4000 or 8000 level course;
  • has an academic staff member from a visual arts or design discipline at the School of Art & Design as the confirmed supervisor for their research project.

Benefits

The Grant provides a one-off payment of $5000 or $10,000 paid after the census date in the semester for which it is offered.
