About this scholarship

 
Every three to five years the ANU College of Business and Economics ('the College') may offer an award known as the Moon Scholarship for Women in Economics ('the Award').
 
The objective of the Award is to attract high calibre domestic students who identify as women to enrol in the Bachelor of Economics program offered by the Research School of Economics.
 
Funding for this Award has been provided by ANU Alumna Sheryle Moon, a recognised practitioner, executive and coach (individual and organisation) in a diverse range of sectors including ICT, recruitment, retail, defence and government. Sheryle is a passionate advocate for the growth and career progression of women.

Eligibility

 
The Award is available to a commencing ANU student who:
  1. is a domestic student; and
  2. receives an offer of admission to and will enrol in the Bachelor of Economics offered by the College; and
  3. is a current school leaver in Australia at an Australian High School (or College); and
  4. identifies as a woman.

Additional information

 
The scholarship is $5,000 per annum. It is paid in equal instalments after the census date providing the recipients achieve a GPA of 5 in each semester or session unless otherwise stated in the letter of offer. 
 
The Award payment will align to the recipient's academic study load. For example, 24 units' enrolment constitutes 100% award payment; 18 units' enrolment constitutes 75% award payment, etc. 
 
The recipient is responsible for making payment of all tuition fees by the prescribed date as set out by the University each session. Recipients of the Award are responsible for the costs of books, study materials, accommodation and all other costs of study.
All applicants applying for admission through the ANU Admission Scholarship and Accommodation Application System will be automatically considered for the Award based on them meeting the eligibility criteria and electing to be considered for scholarships.
 
Where there are no eligible direct applicants or where the pool of eligible direct applicants has been exhausted, the Award may be offered to an eligible student applying for admission via the University Admissions Centre (UAC).

The scholarship will be offered in Semester 1 only and can only be held by one recipient at any one time.
