Mardi & John Scholarship

Overview

The objective of the award is to support domestic undergraduate school-leavers from Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander backgrounds enrolling in a course of study at the Australian National University.

Funding for this award has been provided by Mark Dickens as part of the ANU Support Australia's Students Campaign.

Eligibility

The award is available each year to a prospective ANU student who:

  1. is an Australian citizen;
  2. is of Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander descent;
  3. identifies as an Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander person;
  4. is accepted as such by the community in which they live, or formerly lived;
  5. is current school leaver in Australia at an Australian High School (or College);
  6. is applying for admission to University for the first time;
  7. achieves an ANU selection rank of less than 90.00 (no bonus points).

Benefits

The scholarships offer a stipend of $8,000 per annum paid in equal instalments at the beginning of each semester for up to 5 years.

How to apply

All applicants applying for admission to ANU through the direct Admission Scholarship and Accommodation Application will be automatically considered for the award based on them meeting the eligibility criteria and electing to be considered for scholarships.
