About this scholarship

 

Each year the Tjabal Centre will offer up to two Honours Scholarships known as the Irene Lind Honours Scholarships. The Scholarships aim to encourage and provide financial support for Indigenous students who wish to pursue an honours degree that has a focus on the environment and/or environmental sustainability. Funding for this Award has been provided by David Ferguson in honour of his late wife Irene Lind.

Eligibility

 
The Award is available each year to a commencing or continuing ANU student who:
  1. is a domestic student; and
  2. identifies and is accepted as Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander; and 
  3. receives an offer of admission to or is currently enrolled in an Honours program at ANU; and 
  4. whose research topic relates to environmental sustainability or more broadly, the environment.

Additional information

 

The Scholarship provides a stipend of $15,000 per annum. This is paid in equal instalments at the beginning of each semester of the Honours year.

Students wishing to apply for this scholarship should send a detailed statement of no more than one page outlining the topic of their Honours project and the potential impact of their research. Applications can be emailed to andrew.coulter@anu.edu.au by the closing date listed on the website.
