Centre of Excellence for the Dynamics of Language (CoEDL) Writing Fellowship

Overview

The Fellowship has been established as a competitive process to enable an ANU CoEDL HDR students to receive a stipend for a period of 3 months to support the student to publish research outputs from their doctoral thesis.

CoEDL HDR student post submission of thesis and before lodgement of the final revised version.

Fortnightly stipend only.

How to apply

Student submits a one-page publication plan describing what they will write up, how it aligns with COEDL's intellectual goals, where they propose to submit it, and a time-line, and naming 1-2 panel members who have agreed to write supporting statements for the publication plan.

Selection will be made on the basis of:

Academic merit and demonstrated support from the student's thesis panel;
Feasibility of publication plan (including a clearly defined topic, and demonstration of the ability to complete a piece of writing and submit it for publication in the time allowed); and
Alignment of the publication plan with the goals of the Centre.

The selection committee will be chaired by Professor Jane Simpson and will include at least 3 people including members of the CoEDL Education Committee, ANU CoEDL CIs and an HDR convenor from a relevant discipline.

The selection committee may make no Award if it considers there is no student of sufficient merit.
