ANU Humanitarian Scholarship

Overview

Each year the Australian National University may offer a scholarship known as the ANU Humanitarian Scholarship ("the award").

The objective of the award is to provide financial support to provide access to higher education for students from a refugee background.

Eligibility

The award is available each year to a prospective ANU student who:

  • is an International student and holds a Temporary Protection Visa, or a Safe Haven Enterprise Visa, or is an Asylum Seeker on Bridging Visa Type A or E; and
  • has been accepted into, and is enrolling in an ANU Undergraduate degree program.

Benefits

For students awarded the scholarship prior to 2019, the scholarship provides a stipend of $5000 per annum paid in equal instalments at the beginning of each semester.

For students awarded the scholarship in 2019 or later, the scholarship provides a stipend as outlined below and paid in equal instalments at the beginning of each semester.

In addition to a stipend, the ANU will award a 100% tuition fee scholarships for students commencing their first undergraduate program.

Applications for 2020 should be made via the University Admissions Centre (UAC) by 20th November 2019. The link to the UAC Equity portal is available by clicking on the "Apply Now" button at the top of this page.
