ANU College of Business and Economics Undergraduate Scholarship for Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islanders

Overview

The ANU College of Business & Economics may award scholarships to students from Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander communities who are applying for admission to undergraduate degree programs offered by the College. 

This scholarship will assist with the cost of studying in an undergraduate coursework program at the College and offers students the chance to be recognised for their academic achievements, meet other scholarship recipients and build strong professional networks.

Eligibility

The Award is available each year to a commencing ANU student who:
  1. is an Australian citizen; and
  2. is of Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander (ATSI) descent; and
  3. identifies as an Australian Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander person; and
  4. is accepted as such by the community in which they live, or formerly lived; and
  5. is a current school leaver; and
  6. receives an offer of admission and will enrol in an undergraduate coursework program offered by the College.
 

Selection

Selection is made on the basis of academic merit.

Benefits

The scholarship is $10,000 per annum. The award is paid in equal instalments at the beginning of each semester providing the recipient passes in all courses each semester or session. The award payment will align to the recipient's academic study load. For example, 24-unit enrolment constitutes 100% award payment; 18-unit enrolment constitutes 75% award payment, etc.

How to apply

All applicants applying for admission to ANU through the direct Admission Scholarship and Accommodation Application will be automatically considered for the award based on them meeting the eligibility criteria and electing to be considered for scholarships.

Further information

If there is no candidate of sufficient merit among the prospective student pool, the selection committee will consider continuing CBE students that meet the eligibility criteria, and award the scholarship to a second (or third) year student.

The scholarship will be offered in Semester 1 only.
