At ANU, a short course is a graduate certificate that normally comprises of four subjects (24 units) that can be completed in six months.

Delivered in a range of flexible modes, including full-time, part-time, on campus, online, evening or intensive, a short course is a great way to fit further study around your professional and personal life.

You can apply to study a short course at ANU for the second half of 2021 through the Universities Admission Centre (UAC).

Following these steps will make applying for a short course easier.

1. Choose your graduate certificate program

Consider which ANU graduate certificate program is best for you by searching the programs and courses catalogue.

2. Check your eligibility

Check that you meet the admission requirements of your program, including academic requirements and prerequisites.

3. Explore flexibility

Explore modes of delivery, indicative assessments and workloads to make sure your chosen program will fit your lifestyle.

4. Consider tuition fees

Your tuition fees will depend on the courses within your graduate certificate program. Review ANU tuition fees and payments.

Fee subsidies

 

The Australian Government is subsidising a number of postgraduates programs at ANU through the Job-ready Graduates Package.

There are two ways to obtain a fee discount for your short course:

  • through a Commonwealth Supported Place (CSP)
  • graduate Certificate fee discounts.

To be eligible for either of these discounts you must:

  • commence your short course in 2021
  • complete your full graduate certificate in 2021 or the first half of 2022.

If you do not complete the full degree, the remainder of the courses will be billed on a full-fee basis from Semester 2, 2022.
