How to apply

 
  • Submit your application through our online application portal.
  • You can only apply for a single program, so check our programs and courses catalogue to choose the best degree for you.
  • To be considered for an offer, you must meet the prerequisite and cognate requirements for your preferred program, as well as the English language requirements.
  • Your application will be ranked against other candidates applying for the same program. Learn more about the ANU assessment process.

  • Semester 1, 2023 applications open on 14 March 2022.
  • Semester 2, 2023 applications open on 1 June 2022.
  • You can apply at any time throughout the year.
  • Most applications submitted before the 15th day of each month will be considered for an offer on the 1st day of the following month.
  • You can change your degree preference between the 9th and 15th day of each month.
  • You will have two months to accept your offer from ANU.

Programs with alternative dates 

Master of Business Administration (MBA) 

There are only two opportunities to receive an offer for the MBA. Applications made outside of these dates will not be considered for study in 2023.

  • Apply between 14 March and 30 June 2022
  • Offers are released on 1 August 2022
  • Acceptance deadline is 1 October 2022
  • Apply between 1 June and 30 October 2022
  • Offers are released on 1 December 2022
  • Acceptance deadline is 15 January 2023

Bachelor of Health Science

  • Apply between 14 March and 15 November 2022
  • Offers are released on 1 December 2022 and 9 January 2023
  • Acceptance deadline is 25 January 2023

Bachelor of Philosophy (Honours) (Science)

  • Applications will close on 15 November 2022
  • Offers are released every month with the final offer round on 1 December 2022

ANU Crawford School of Public Policy

There are limited offer rounds for the ANU Crawford School of Public Policy.

  • Apply before 15 October 2022
  • Offers are released every month with the final offer round on 1 November 2022
  • Acceptance deadline is 1 January 2023

Master of Clinical Psychology and Master of Professional Psychology

There is only one opportunity to receive an offer for the Master of Clinical Psychology and the Master of Professional Psychology degree.

  • Apply between 15 March 2022 and 30 September 2022
  • Offers are released on 1 December 2022
  • Acceptance deadline is 25 January 2023

Some non-standard ANU programs have additional application requirements, including the one-year honours programs for undergraduate coursework and the vertical programs of the College of Science and the College of Health and Medicine.

  • Submit your application through the StudyLink portal.  
  • We will assess your application and send out offers within four weeks of submission.

How to apply

 

You can apply to study at ANU through the Universities Admissions Centre (UAC). Find a full list of ANU courses and application deadlines on the UAC website.

ANU participates in UAC rounds throughout the year in September, October, November, December and January (round 1). We release offers on a rolling basis.

Early bird applications are now open until midnight 30 September 2021.

As an international student in Australia, you will need overseas health cover for the duration of your stay.

7. Apply for campus accommodation

ANU offers a range of accommodation options across our campus. To apply, please submit an application on the Accommodation Portal. Please note that we guarantee an offer of on campus accommodation to international undergraduate students commencing in the first semester of their first year of study at ANU. View your options for living on-campus if you will be under 18 at the start of the semester. Your visa will require you to prove that you have organised acceptable living arrangements.
