You are a direct applicant for study in 2025 if you:

  • have completed Australian Year 11 studies or the International Baccalaureate program for Year 11
  • will complete Australian Year 12 studies with an ATAR or an International Baccalaureate Diploma in November 2024

Direct applications for study in 2025 open on 1 March and close on 13 May 2024 and cover admission, scholarships and guaranteed student accommodation.

  • Early offers made on 5th September 2024 are based on Year 11 results. ANU will honour these for study in 2025 as long as you complete Year 12 and receive an ATAR.
  • If your Year 11 results don't meet entry requirements, we will put you on our waiting list and automatically consider your application again based on your Year 12 results in the December/January offer rounds.
  • All direct applicants are required to meet the co-curricular or service requirement as part of their application.
  • All direct applicants will be covered by our accommodation guarantee.

You can apply to study at The Australian National University (ANU) through the Universities Admissions Centre (UAC)

ANU participates in UAC application rounds throughout the year and releases offers through UAC on a rolling basis.

2. Check documentation requirements for applying through UAC

Applying through UAC requires different documentation as well as an application fee.

3. Learn more about our co-curricular and services requirements (CCS) for current Australian Year 12 or IB school leaver applicants

To meet the CCS requirements, you need to provide documentary evidence of any knowledge and skills developed outside of the classroom.

4. Are you eligible for adjustment factors?

Check if you're eligible for adjustment factors that can add points to your ANU selection rank if you meet academic merit guidelines or have experienced difficult personal circumstances.
