Arts and culture

Arts and cultural activities play an important role in life here at Ursula Hall. Throughout the year many arts and cultural events, within and between the ANU Halls of residences, take place. They are organised by residents for residents, and they make life at Ursula Hall a lot of fun!

Some examples of events that take place throughout the year include:

  • Interhall choir
  • Theatre sports
  • Public Speaking
  • Debating
  • Trivia night
  • Talen night
  • Big Night Out (a Battle of the Bands competition/event)

Each year, the Hall also organise and perform a play for residents and their friends/relatives to enjoy. In recent years, plays have included The Importance of Being Earnest, Cosi, (...) All in the Timing, The Bourgeois Gentleman, The Wonderful Wizard of Oz, A Midsummer Night's Dream and Dad & Dave.

An International Night for our International Students is organised each year and is a night to remember for all who participate. This is a chance for students to share their customs and foods with the wider resident community.

At Ursula Hall we have our own magazine committee, and each year we release a yearbook (Bearphax) that chronicles our memories to retain for the future!

Our cultural activities make life here at Ursula enjoyable for everyone - and anyone can get involved!
