Returning to Campus Residence, Gowrie Hall

2021 Returner process for students

Gowrie Hall was opened up for ANU students at a time when demand for our other on-campus accommodation exceeded the number of rooms available.  It has also been a valuable place in 2020 to provide additional accommodation for University House residents after the destruction of their home in the hail storms in January.

During 2020 Gowrie Hall has developed a unique community with the small number of residents who have lived there.  The staff and student leaders have worked hard to create a positive experience.

The community has raised concerns throughout 2020 about the distance from campus and the limitations on creating a communal lifestyle at Gowrie that includes a variety of activities, events and support programs similar to those offered in a community with a larger number of residents. For these reasons, in 2021 residents residing at Gowrie Hall will be offered the opportunity to return to several different residences that are centrally located on the ANU campus.  An expression of interest has opened up and the details will be sent directly to all residents of Gowrie Hall.
