2023 Accommodation direct entry applicants

When direct entry early offers are released on 5 September 2022, you will have your accommodation allocation listed in your offer. To secure your accommodation, you must accept the accommodation offer in the direct entry portal as soon as possible.

You need to accept your direct entry early offer by 5 October 2022 11.59pm.

At this stage, you are only required to accept the offer which is confirming that you wish to have a place on campus in student accommodation. You are not required to make any payment or sign any formal contract at this time.

Formal accommodation contracts, along with acceptance fee payments, will be issued when final confirmed offers are released in late December 2022/early January 2023 (TBC) through the direct entry pathway.

If you are deferring your academic offer, you need to do this in the direct entry portal.  By deferring your academic offer, your accommodation offer is cancelled as we do not defer accommodation offers.

You will be able to apply for accommodation when you commence studies at ANU by applying through the Accommodation Services Portal at the appropriate time.

If you accept you academic offer, but you decide to reject your offer of accommodation and then later decide that you need accommodation, you will need to apply through the Accommodation Services Portal when 2023 applications open from 1 September 2022.

You will still be under the accommodation guarantee.

While all efforts are made to allocate students to their preferred Residence, this may not always be the case.

Allocation is based on the number of available beds after returning students have been placed, along with ensuring demographics in each Residence to achieve a balanced community from metropolitan, regional, rural, remote and international locations. 

The Residence you have been allocated to will show in your direct entry early offer which is released on 5 September 2022. 

We will open an Accommodation Preference Change Request Form (10 October 2022-18 November 2022 TBC) and this information will be emailed to you AFTER the closing date of 5 October 2022 11.59pm

To apply for an accommodation preference change you must accept your direct entry early accommodation offer first. We cannot make any changes prior to this.

Outcomes of any Accommodation Preference Change Requests will be notified by 5 December 2022 COB.

Don't worry! Your original accommodation allocation offered through the direct entry early offer will still be valid and you will receive your formal accommodation contract, along with acceptance fee payments, when final confirmed offers are released in late December 2022/early January 2023 (TBC) through the direct entry pathway.

You will need to do accept your direct entry early offer by 5 October 2022 11.59pm.

Please remember to all components of the direct entry early offer . By just responding to the academic offer does not ensure a flow through to the other offer components-these all must be responded to separately.

You can still apply for accommodation directly through the Accommodation Services Portal.

We will make accommodation offers in January on a rolling basis and information will be sent via email.
