Congratulations on receiving your early offer of accommodation for 2022.
We know that this is an exciting time for you and that you probably have many questions, especially regarding your accommodation offer. We have put together some content that we are looking forward to sharing with you. The information relates specifically to domestic undergraduate students that applied directly to ANU for 2022.
Every effort has been made to offer you a place in your residence of choice. Where this has not been possible, a lifestyle option has been offered.
If your accommodation preference has not been met, you can apply to change. A request for change is not guaranteed and so we do encourage you to accept the offer that you receive.
If you still wish to change, the 2022 accommodation preference change form can be found here.
I have received an early offer but want to change to a different residence, what can I do?
The 2022 accommodation preference change form can be found here. This will close on 26 November 2021 and we cannot accept request after that time.
If I apply to change my accommodation preference, when will I find out?
You will receive an email on 10 December 2021 to advise you of the outcome. If you were successful, your final offer, which will be released on either 10 January 2022 or 24 January 2022, will reflect the new Residence.
If my request to change to a different residence isn't successful, what are my options?
If we weren't able to change your preference, you will still have the original offer of accommodation. We do run inter-residential transfers twice a year and so you will have the opportunity to apply and move at that time. You will receive an email on 10 December 2021 to advise you of the outcome. If you were successful, your final offer, which will be released on either 10 January 2022 or 24 January 2022, will reflect the new Residence.
When will I receive my accommodation contract and when do I need to pay?
You will receive your accommodation contract (Occupancy Agreement) and payment advice for acceptance fees once your final/confirmed offer has been released on 10 January 2022 or 24 January 2022 (depending on State).
When final/confirmed offers are released on 10 January 2022 or 24 January 2022, you will have all of the required fees listed in your offer letter. They vary slightly depending on where you have been allocated to but generally consist of a refundable deposit/registration fee/resident committee fee and two weeks rent in advance.
Can I defer my accommodation offer?
If you are deferring your academic offer, you need to do this in the direct entry portal. By deferring your academic offer, your accommodation offer is also cancelled as we do not defer accommodation offers.
If you accept you academic offer, but you decide the reject your offer of accommodation and then later decide that you need accommodation, you will need to apply.
You will still be under the accommodation guarantee.
When do I need to accept my accommodation offer by?
You will need to do this depending on where you completed your schooling:
- All states and territories other than ACT/NSW: by 11:59pm (AEDT), Tuesday 18 January 2022
- ACT/NSW: by 11:59pm Monday 31 January 2022
Once you have accepted your accommodation, your residence will send you everything you need to know by email - so look for this in your inbox.
I did not apply for accommodation on campus but have now changed my mind. Have I missed out?
You haven't missed out.
You can still apply for accommodation directly through the accommodation application portal.
Please be aware that you need to apply by 11.59pm (AEDT) on 20 December 2021.
We will make accommodation offers in January.
