Can I change my program preference or my intake?

ANU wants to give you the best possible outcome of your application. There are occasions where you may not be eligible or competitive enough to receive an offer to your first program preference.

In these instances, ANU may make an offer to an alternative program that can be used as a pathway into your original program preference.

More information can be found in our Guide to program transfers and alternative offers. There will be no need for you or for your education agent to change the program preference, if an alternative offer can be made by ANU.

Should your interest in the program you want to study change nonetheless, your program preference can be altered during the change of preference window (9th to 15th of each month) by completing the online change of preference form. Admissions will assess any program changes once after the change of preference window closes.

We understand that your circumstances change and that you may not be able to commence your study in the intake that you have received an offer for. While ANU does not offer any deferrals, it is possible for you to change your semester intake from semester 1 2024 to semester 2 2024 via the change of preference form when applications open.

Admissions will re-assess your application for the new intake after the change of preference window closes. To change your preference click here.
