Hi! My name is Amy and I am studying Asian Languages and moving into Translation. Our conversation groups are a fantastic place to meet new people, maybe learn something new, and of course to talk and have a discussion. As ‘grown-ups’ we sometimes don’t have the time, place or space to be able to talk. These groups are designed to give an opportunity for discussion. Sometimes they can be related to a current affairs topic, sometimes they can be about sharing a bit of your culture. But most importantly they are fun and interesting - pop in to a session, and make some new friends. Hope to meet you soon!
Hello! My name is Lily and I am in my fourth year of studying a Bachelor of Laws (Honours) and International Security Studies. Having run some of the Conversation Groups last year as well as helping to facilitate language exchangees and workshops as part of my involvement in various student societies, I am really excited to return to the Let's Speak English program this year! I aim to facilitate fun, engaging conversation groups that are as much enjoyable as they are educational. I am looking forward to getting to know everyone who is interested in practising their English, making some new friends and having some fun – do drop by, and I hope to see you all around!
Hi, my name is Mel and I am a final year student studying a double degree in commerce (marketing) and psychology. I grew up in Sydney and have been living in Canberra for 4 years now. In my free time I enjoy running, cooking, volunteering and travelling. My favourite thing about leading the English conversation groups are getting to meet people from all across the world and seeing improvements in everyone’s confidence across the semester. It would be lovely to have you join us for a session. I hope to see you soon!
