2020 was a year like no other! While Australia faced natural disasters, political quarrels, economic challenges and the global coronavirus pandemic alongside moments of goodness, joy and Australian spirit, political cartoonists immortalised the good and the bad in a series of skilfully illustrated cartoons. The annual 'Behind the Lines' exhibition showcases the cartoons which best captured the political, social and cultural moments of 2020. Preview the exhibition here: https://behindthelines.moadoph.gov.au/2020
Join us for a guided tour of the 'Behind the Lines' exhibition at the Museum of Australian Democracy to explore the political cartoons that defined 2020, experience the unique cultural and social role of political cartoonists and reflect on the year that was. This is a FREE event for all ANU students and includes a return bus trip between ANU and the Museum, and exhibition entry (entry costs for the exhibition usually apply).
